Meet Kristin | The Intern

I want to introduce you to Kristin! She is my cute and smart intern. She started working when her junior year ended in June and we have been going through all things photography! We mostly meet at this fun coffee shop below, and we also go out and perfect our craft by shooting the world. It has been a blast having her and I hope she is able to take away valuable information that will help her thrive in the photography industry. To learn more about Kristin, see her answers to questions below.

Spring Photo Strip

Spring Photo Strip

It has been a full season and with so much going on January-May just flew on by. I can’t repeat enough to myself and out loud… it is all GOOD busy. When I catch myself feeling overwhelmed I remember how thankful I am to have work, to do what I love, to have family and friends we get to see often and a home that I am blessed to share with my sweet husband. Starting from the top left this has been our lives!

Top Left: We bought a condo! It is a surreal and an amazing blessing and we are so thankful to be settled in and so so so close to being fully unpacked. I took this picture on the first day moving in…it was a reminder to look ahead and not behind at all the boxes and clutter!!

Second: Family family family! With babies here spending time with family has been so sweet. We got to spend Easter weekend with my brother and sister in law and their adorable twins.

Third: I recorded footage with an amazing team for a new website video. I am still working on completing other scenes before it is finished!

Top Right: Wedding season is in full force! One of my first weddings of the year was an elopement in Carmel, CA and I keep saying I could photograph elopements everyday. Love love love.

Bottom Left: Adam and I have stepped out of our living room and have started filming music that we do together. It has been a blast, we are excited to document memories of us playing to have for our family and friends and we have a couple personal/original projects in the works to share as well. This time we did an Adele cover, it will be posted soon :)

Second: Beach days recently! Spring weather is warm here in Carmel and that is not common so off to the beach we go with our shorts and sandals!!

Third: Engagement session with a couple I LOVE! Their wedding is coming up in a few months.

Bottom Right: Adam and I have been playing at our church cafe’ service at Shoreline Community Church. A casual, acoustic set…and Shanna joins us sometimes with her beautiful violin skills. This shot was taken at our rehearsal, love her.

Our Season in Photos-January 2014

It is amazing that it is already January 17th! Adam and I have found that as we are getting older time seems to go by faster. We are busier-our weekdays are filled with work and our weekends with weddings and time spent with friends and family. We realize it is all GOOD stuff! Our days are packed with great experiences and we are doing work that we love, we could not ask for anything else.

Here is our season in photos!

Left: wedding at Memory Garden in Monterey, California Middle Top: A weekend visit from my college ladies in January Middle Bottom: Adam’s favorite view. I am continually amazed at his freak athletic ability and love for sport and competition. Right: Christmas Eve 2013.

Kicking off the Holidays

Hey everyone!

It’s Friday! I finally feel like it’s OK to start diving into holiday mode. I have always wanted to plan before Thanksgiving, but apparently that isn’t the rule. BUT, we can make our own rules can’t we!? This weekend I will be baking with a good friend of mine and her daughter. I may or may not post the final product we shall see. Baking is not my strongest talent…I have been known to skip an ingredient or add an unnecessary one, and those who are GOOD bakers know that that can be a matter of life or death. Like that one time I forgot baking soda in my Dad’s birthday cake (it still tasted ok it was just very flat and dense) and that other time I put butter on the cookie sheet so the cookies didn’t stick. Well….they didn’t stick but they did BURN.

So WISH me luck! What are you baking during this time of year? Here is what I am making below…

Holiday Baking! Holiday Baking!

Southern California Vacation

A couple weeks ago we went on vacation to Southern California to visit friends and family. We stayed with our brother Nate who lives in the gorgeous Belmont Shore area off of 2nd street in Long Beach. We lounged around in shorts (which was nice for a change since that NEVER happens in Monterey), we walked 2nd street, I ate at Open Sesame with my favorite girls & we shoveled down taco surf $1 fish tacos that are to die for. We had conversations late into the night with Nate & Jessica while sipping a glass of wine, and a relaxing Saturday brunch with my mother in law.

After leaving Long Bach we headed to Palm Springs to stay at our friend’s Aunt’s beautiful home that she so generously offered to us (thank you SO much RUTH!) A total of 9 of us arrived Friday night and stayed until Sunday. We celebrated birthdays, played games, swam, and went ¬†out for a night on the town downtown Palm Springs. That night included fantastic Mexican food and ended with Karaoke. You better believe Adam, Danielle, and me sang “Where is the Love?” by the Black Eyed Peas!! Below are some photos from our vacation, enjoy!
