Music Monday | Lovelite

There are so many talented artists that I have discovered since doing Music Mondays. Not only have they been inspiring and good company on my many car rides, they have opened my eyes to music other than mainstream music. And for that I am very thankful ;)

Lovelite is a husband and wife team. They are both worship leaders who are ” inspired by the thought of reshaping the mundane. The band’s anthemic, atmospheric style lays a foundation for its heartbeat: to share in the character of God’s creativity.”

Their music is beautiful.

*Music Mondays exist to inspire my wedding photography. The artists and songs on these posts are a part of my Monika Greenaway Photography collection that I pull from for my wedding photography slideshows. My goal is to also  provide song ideas for industry peers. Enjoy!

Twins

Adam calls me a baby hog, and I’ll admit I need to work on my sharing skills in that area…but eventually with the twins I took a deep breathe and passed along one of our sweet new nephews to Adam.

Our family is in love with Colton and Gunnar and so happy for Chris & Kim.

5 Year Anniversary | John + Soojin

I met John & Soojin on the second floor of our apartment complex where my three roommates and I lived at apartment 64 off of Deerpark Dr. in Fullerton, CA. It was my last year of college at Fullerton and John and Soojin were moving in our new roommate Grace. Little did I know this move would change my life forever. Soojin and I grew close very fast after being in the same bible study and living down the street from each other.

John and Soojin met when they were 16 in high school and had just gotten married while they were still in college. They were the first of our friends to be married and we all thought that was crazy! I soon learned that Soojin would be the wise go to married woman that I would go to for advice as I prepared for Adam and I to be married 3 years ago.

It has been amazing watching John and Soojin literally grow up together. Each year their love for each other grows stronger in a powerful way. Soojin and John are both teachers, Soojin is an elementary school teacher for the UCLA Community School in Los Angeles and this past year John taught high school math WHILE getting his masters. He got a job for this upcoming school year! WOO!! And now they are both passionate educators that are off to change the world together.

Love you both, Happy 5 year anniversary!! :)

Music | Monday…I mean Tuesday

Due to a Monday wedding yesterday! Yes Monday! It was so lovely :)…due to a Monday wedding yesterday I did not post my Music Monday post. Maybe it is a good thing I didn’t because maybe I wouldn’t have found Elenowen. Oh. Days are so good when I find new artists that I fall in love with!! Elenowen are a husband and wife duo, and their harmonies…oh. Their harmonies!! Please please please go listen. It’s pure beauty.

Not only do I love that they are a husband and wife team that makes magical music, one of their first albums was called Pulling Back the Veil. Hello…wedding! In that album they candidly share about the ups and downs of their marriage. I love when marriage is not portrayed as this facade of all butterflies and roses but of something that is incredibly hard to do, and at the same time surprisingly rewarding and fulfilling when you both choose to love, sacrifice, really really try for the other person, and give grace. Lots and lots of grace.

Here is one of their songs titled “Head to My Heart”
