She is 16 going on 17, and she has grown into such a lovely young woman.
I am primarily focused on weddings, but Mariette is a very special girl to me and I couldn’t pass up doing head shots for her for an upcoming singing competition in her home town. She has her sights set on Berklee College of Music, and with her talent and sweet disposition I know she can do anything she sets her mind to.
Sebastian will be here in a month! My really close friend Amanda is the mother of Sebastian and she has wanted to name her son that since elementary school! She persisted on through even when someone said it sounded like a character from a Disney movie…but that’s Amanda. She has her heart set on something and she doesn’t care what anyone else thinks. And I admire her for that. I have never seen her so happy, and 2 years ago when we had a conversation in my car about life I realized that she is meant to be a Mom. There is so much passion in her voice when she talks about having a baby. I am so proud of her and I am so excited to meet the little guy. We took pregnancy shots when she was about 6 1/2 months pregnant.
According to dictionary.com the definition of a prodigy is this: “a child who, by about age 10, performs at the level of a highly trained adult in a particular sphere of activity or knowledge.”
Yes…I sat next to THIS prodigy (you’ll see below) in 7th grade choir and every time I heard her voice it sounded like an angel who came to give me a concert from 1 foot away. This girl became a friend that I sang with, then a friend that I sang and hung out with, THEN a friend that I sang, hung out with, and traveled with… and eventually my best friend! She is constantly performing and auditioning so it was time for her to update her head shots. I felt honored when she asked me to take her photos a couple days after Christmas. Now we are best friends, who sing and travel together while taking professional pictures. I loooove her.
Melissa’s website is www.melissaharding.com and I posted a video of her Patty Laponess like voice at the end of the photos. Trust me you don’t want to miss it!!
As I was walking towards Dana I realized that I was meeting her for the first time. I had heard so much about her I felt like I already knew her!! My husband Adam works with “Dee”, as the office calls her, and he had already told me so much about her and her cute son Apollo. Apollo…don’t even get me started…talk about a little cutie.
I spent the Sunday before Christmas taking photos of her and Apollo on a beautiful sunny day in December!! We had a blast walking around the Colton House in Monterey. Such a beautiful area. Thank you Dana for inviting me to take photos of your beautiful self and your amazingly adorable son.
Me: “wooooo hooooooo, I can’t breath Lynn……” Lynn: “Duck!! left hand up, dodge that branch!! Another one on the right!!!” That’s us going on a horse ride of my lifetime. For those of you who ride horses I know that must seem pretty lame but when I went out to go take pictures of Lynn I had no idea I was going to be in for a galloping horse adventure in the beautiful Castro Valley Trails.
Lynn has been telling me about her horse Shahrazad for a while, and I finally got the opportunity to go to meet her. Lynn is soo good with her, it was really amazing to see. Lynn used to own a successful Chiropractic Practice in Pleasanton, CA and is now a mentor for fellow chiropractors looking to start the practice that they desire to have. Her website is www.yourchiropracticcoach.com
